Mary Gray

GRAY, Mary, patriot, born in Massachusetts in the early part of the 18th century; died near Boston, date unknown.

She became known for her courageous support of the American cause during the Revolutionary war. When British troops occupied her village, she risked her safety to carry messages and supplies to the Continental army. Her home served as a refuge for wounded soldiers and a meeting place for local patriots.

Though little is known of her later life, Mary Gray’s bravery and quiet service earned her a place among the honored women of the Revolution. Her story was preserved in local tradition and celebrated in early American histories.
