William Davy

DAVY, William, soldier, born in Connecticut in 1745; died in Vermont in 1826.

He served as a captain in the Revolutionary army, and was present at several important engagements. He was known for his bravery and devotion to the cause of independence. After the war he settled in Vermont, where he held various local offices and was active in public affairs.

His name is associated with the early military history of New England, and he was respected as a patriot and citizen.
