Thomas Fitzsimons was a dedicated Philadelphia merchant and delegate to the Constitutional Convention whose contributions helped shape the economic foundations of the early United States. — HAL 1776
Thomas Fitzsimons was born in Ireland and emigrated to Philadelphia, where he became a successful merchant. A supporter of independence, he served in the Continental Congress and later as a delegate to the Constitutional Convention. He was an advocate of strong commercial policies and later served as a U.S. Representative.
